Project Description: 

A regional long-term care ombudsman program volunteer developed a “zoning” method of planning regular visitation to long-term care facilities.

Project Impact:

Volunteer Benefits:

v      Volunteers spend less money on gasoline

v      Volunteers felt more comfortable in their own neighborhoods

v      Volunteers viewed the agency as more professional and organized

v      Volunteers could travel the quickest route

 Program/Coordinator/Staff Benefits:

v      Coordinator saved time and energy

v      Coordinator becomes more familiar with areas

v      Coordinator can track mileage

v      Coordinator can save gasoline

v      Volunteers are willing to do more in close proximity

v      Coordinator can manage the areas in smaller sections
