Montgomery County Celebrates 28 Years

The Montgomery County, Maryland Long Term Care Ombudsman Program celebrated its 28th anniversary with an annual volunteer recognition event.

Beth Baker, journalist and author of  Old Age in a New Age: The Promise of Transformative Nursing Homes” addressed the audience as  the keynote speaker.  The audience, consisting of representatives from national, state, and local agencies, family councils, and the long term care industry were treated to an overview of the culture change journey as documented by this renowned writer.

Ombudsman representatives were honored for their service with an autographed copy of the book and will participate in a book-club style discussion with the author during a future gathering.

Pictured with the author is Hilda Woel, a volunteer who is beginning her 20th year of service as an ombudsman advocate.
