Ombudsman Involvement in Family Councils

Conference Call December 15, 2004

More than 170 state and local long-term care ombudsmen participated in a conference call training on December 15, 2004 , hosted by the Ombudsman Resource Center on Supporting Family Council Development: How Ombudsmen Can Help, led by Jean Badalamenti, NCCNHR’s Family Outreach Coordinator, and Gail MacInnes, Program Associate.  The call presented information about how ombudsmen can promote and support family council development with family members and staff; the nuts and bolts of successful family council participation, meetings and advocacy; and strategies for overcoming obstacles related to family council development.
